Intake Coordinator (Full Time)
Location: Caldwell, Idaho (hybrid position with remote and in-person work)
Reports to: Program Manager
Employee Type: Full Time
Starting Pay: $20/hour
The Intake Coordinator (IC) position will be the first point of contact for the families as they come into the child protection system. The IC will be primarily responsible for attending shelter care hearings and building out the case in preparation for a CASA Volunteer to take over at the earliest point possible.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attend all shelter cares in Canyon County and serve as a support to attend shelter care for Advocate Supervisor in Rural Counties

Communicate to courts what cases we accept or withdraw from, per Program Manager’s discretion determined by triage plan

Assist in court coverage

Assist with coverage in case-related meetings with the Health and Welfare Department

Filter all petitions through current triage plan

Keep case notes as up to date as possible for handoffs

Expand the case details in database (ie. collateral contacts, placement, legal history, supporting records/documents) from initial investigation to ensure a smooth hand-off when a volunteer is assigned.

Request initial records from service providers (school, medical/treatment/therapy providers, probation/parole)

Assist in records requests for staff-related cases

Perform a basic records search for civil and criminal legal history

Meet with child(ren), foster family, biological family, and any other necessary parties to establish child’s needs and gather information for the adjudicatory report

Transfer cases to available volunteers/staff as early as possible, preferably at case assignment or by adjudicatory

At the discretion of the Program Manager, IC may carry cases beyond adjudicatory, acting as CASA/GAL.

Maintain court shadowing calendar for new volunteers coming into the program to be able to attain required court shadowing hours

Run weekly upcoming hearing reports

Complete 20 Continuing Education hours or CEUs each year employed by the Program.
