Volunteer Support Specialist (Part Time)

Reports to: Volunteer Training Manager 

Part-Time: estimated 20 hrs/week

$18 per hour

The part time Volunteer Support Specialist for CASA of SW Idaho provides administrative support to the recruiting, screening, training and retention of volunteers who will serve as Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) to ensure that abused and neglected children receive quality advocacy in court. This is a hybrid position with remote and in-office hour requirements. Must be based in Southwest Idaho.


  • Manage all new volunteer background checks and fingerprints

  • Assist in the preparation and completion of the pre-service training program

  • Input data, maintain volunteer reference checks and records in Optima

  • Ensure that thank you cards, birthday cards, and program anniversary cards are sent out

  • Assist Volunteer Training Manager with volunteer appreciation events

  • Assist in public outreach events to recruit as needed

  • Arrange purchase of swag items and print media utilized in recruiting and community events

  • Track active volunteers background check renewal dates and ensure that those are completed

  • Ensure all volunteers are in compliance with continuing education hour requirements

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and other meetings as requested

  • Assist in email communications for volunteers

  • Assist in setting up Roundtable discussions across key counties in our district

  • Assist with general duties as time permits and needs arise

  • Serve as part of the CASA team for office duties, fundraising events, volunteer events, personnel issues, etc


  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience

  • Strong passion for our program’s mission

  • Ability to strictly adhere to confidentiality requirements

  • Ability to handle multiple concurrent assignments and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work well either alone or as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be at least 21 and able to pass a full Supreme Court background check

  • Fulfill other duties as assigned


  • Experience working with Google Workspace, Canva and Zoom (preferred)

  • Experience working with website, infographics, print and social media a plus
