Thank you Silver Sage PCA!

Last week, we became the VERY grateful recipients of a large donation from the Silver Sage Region of the Porsche Club of America. This group of generous do-gooders have been supporting charitable causes in the region for years, and they decided that 2020 was the year to support safety for foster children.

Silver Sage was represented by Paul & Lori Kaczmarek and Monika & Andrew King, presenting the check to Christina Walker, Executive Director of CASA of Southwest Idaho, and Advocate Coordinator Jenny Easley. They are pictured among toys donated to foster children of the 3rd District by College of Western Idaho and Atomic Art Tattoo.

Our Executive Director, Christina Walker, tells the story of how the Silver Sage Region of the Porsche Club came to be such generous supporters our local foster children:

"I was discussing child abuse, the vulnerability of children in Foster Care, and our program with the Gem County Reserve Deputies a couple of years ago when I first met Paul Kaczmarek. Mr. Kaczmarek was excited about the big positive difference our program's advocacy had on the children we serve. He said that he belonged to a club that gave back to our communities by choosing a charity every year to support, and he'd like for us to apply.

"We applied to the Silver Sage Region of the Porsche Club of America that year and lost out to another great non-profit. Paul, however, was determined and suggested we apply a second time. This time we were chosen as the club's charity for the year. We were so excited by the opportunity and looked forward to participating in some of the fundraising events usually employed by the club, such as Oktoberfest and a car show in October--and then the COVID Pandemic hit, and all in-person events had to be cancelled.

"Still, through sheer force of will and determination the club persisted in raising funds for us. Thanks to the generosity of their members, they raised more than they had expected under the circumstances. We were recently presented with a big check from club members (including Paul and his wife Lori) in the amount of $20,500. This is by far the single largest donation taken in by our Program and we couldn't possibly be more grateful to the Porsche Club of America, Silver Sage Region and their generous members."

Thank you again to the Silver Sage Region of Porsche Club of America for your generous support of our community's foster children! Thanks to you, we are able to provide meaningful, life-changing advocacy to even more children within the Third Judicial District.
